Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube and More to Headline Summertime In The LBC Festival

There is so much drama in the LBC now that Snoop Dogg is returning to his hometown Long Beach, CA for Summertime in the LBC! It’s a one day festival that will take place at the Queen Mary and will feature Snoop, Ice Cube, and The Game as headliners (along with a star-studded lineup of hip-hop greats).

Ja Rule and Ashanti will continue their joint tour with a performance at the festival, along with The Isley Brothers, Method Man, Redman, E-40, Too $hort, Warren G and The Dove Shack, who created the 1995 hit “Summertime In The LBC.” This event celebrates South LA and Long Beach’s roots in developing the West Coast Gangsta Rap sound of the 1990s, a mix of hardcore rhymes and G-Funk beats and grooves, often created as a nod to the sounds of 1970s soul, r&b, funk and pop.

Snoop will be performing “Doggystyle” in its entirety, because of course he is. The album was released in November 1993 and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The legendary effort spawned such hits as “Gin and Juice” and “Who Am I? (What’s My Name?)” If that’s not enough to get you excited, I don’t know what is.
