"Kanye was cancelled just yesterday and now y’all renewing the subscription?" is among the confused, complicated reactions flooding Twitter.

Kanye West dropped his new album, "Ye," on Friday and fans are…conflicted.

The 7-track record filled with deeply personal reflections on his mental state and family is garnering generally positive reviews as it dominates Twitter chatter, but comes just weeks after he ranted and raved on TMZ that slavery was "a choice."

"When you hear about slavery for 400 years… That sounds like a choice," he said on "TMZ Live" at the start of May. "You were there for 400 years and it's all of y'all. It's like we're mentally imprisoned."

Some fans (turned haters) are not about to forget that and consume his new music, while others are happy to move on and embrace "Ye," and some are simply torn.

See Twitter's conflicted reaction to the new music below:

Kanye's visit to Trump Tower, his MAGA hat, "slavery was a choice," his "reclaiming of the Confederate flag" to sell merch, his disrespect of Rhymefest & Donnie…..
Y'all let all that go. For an album released in the middle of nowhere. I don't ever want to be that kind of Stan.

Kanye West disrespected the he entire Black community less than 3 weeks ago and all you guys flew out to Wyoming to hear that man’s album?
Then next time a white celebrity makes some racist, slavery comment nobody out there better be outraged.
None of y’all.

This is a reminder that Kim went off at Kanye for saying slavery was a choice because it would end their careers, not because it's downright offensive 💀 pic.twitter.com/zpKKqcgt9e

Kanye said slavery was a choice and all y’all favs flew out Wyfuckingoming to heat his trash ass music.
Y’all wanna know how R. Kelly got away with what he was doing for sooooo long ? HE WAS ENABLED.
& y’all enabling Kanye the same damn way. Smh.

Kanye said “slavery was a choice” & “MAGA” and honestly that’s all I needed to hear. So yeah, I’ll pass on that #Ye album pic.twitter.com/t7rYOfNvze

I’m choosing not to listen to Kanye’s album just like my ancestors chose slavery.

Y’all are so easily sidetracked & brainwashed… Y’all was just going in on Kanye West and Kim for their ignorance! Now that his album is out, y’all are hyped to buy and listen to his music just to join in on the social media hype.
Supporting “Slavery was an option.”
And “MAGA”

— Alicia Daniella. (@keepupwithle) June 1, 2018

For someone to say … “Slavery was an option.” Every black person who so called “CANCELED” Kanye West and didn’t agree with that ignorant statement should not be listening or supporting a damn thing of his! PERIOD!

When you see the same people that "cancelled" Kanye a few weeks ago, popping up in Wyoming for the album pic.twitter.com/vEVVREMXq3

Me: Kanye West is cancelled!!
Also me: *runs to Spotify to listen to kanyes album*

— Blizzy (@RayBLK_) June 1, 2018

Btw I never “cancelled” Kanye. When he did all the MAGA stuff I didn’t care. You know why? Because music is music. If you cancelled every artist based on their personal beliefs you probably wouldn’t listen to any music period.

— Craig Mitch (@CraigxMitch) June 1, 2018

It’s sad, but Kanye is still CANCELLED over here! None for me, thanks… https://t.co/ecBFLEpnf1

3 weeks ago y’all were calling for Kanye’s head now that’s all out the window? Asking for a friend…

— kuz (@kylekuzma) June 1, 2018

Kanye: “slavery was a choice”
Black community: “KANYE NOT BLACK NO MORE” “HE LOST TOUCH WITH REALITY” “YE IN THE SUNKEN PLACE” “HES CANCELLED”
Kanye: *drops new album*
Black community: “you know what we could’ve taken those chains off our necks we just didn’t want to”

— Ham The Aviator (@TheRealAviator) June 1, 2018

New @kanyewest album is tight! Watch everybody who 'canceled' him 2 weeks ago start stanning again. You knew this was coming lol. 😂

— ZUBY: (@ZubyMusic) June 1, 2018

Y’all idiots if y’all don’t listen to Kanye album only because of his views on politics, which y’all really don’t know that well in the first place y’all only know what twitter told you, I listen to @kanyewest for MUSIC not his political views he’s an artist not politician

— BlackMouton (@negromouton) June 1, 2018

I can’t separate Kanye as a person from Kanye as an artist so I have no desire to download nor listen to his album.
