People are praising Benedict Cumberbatch as a real-life superhero after he saved a food delivery cyclist from a gang of men attacking him in London this week.

Cumberbatch, AKA Marvel's Doctor Strange, reportedly leapt out of an Uber after seeing the Delieveroo employee being attacked by four men. According to The Sun, the British actor — also famous for playing Sherlock Holmes on BBC's "Sherlock" — even got physical in the fight and told the men to "leave [the cyclist] alone," and the men fled the scene.

Even more interesting is that the incident went down right by Sherlock Holmes’ fictional home on London’s Baker Street.

"I did it out of, well, I had to, you know," a modest Cumberbatch said about the rescue, while Uber driver Manuel Dias gushed that the actor was a "superhero."

"Benedict was courageous, brave and selfless," Dias said. "If he hadn’t stepped in the cyclist could have been seriously injured. He asked the rider how he was and when he said, 'I'm OK' Benedict just hugged him…Here was Sherlock Holmes fighting off four attackers just round the co

Delieveroo confirmed the incident by tweeting their appreciation for Cumberbatch's good deed.
