"I really don't know where to get started on this," Lawrence, 27, tweeted after she was taken to task for going out in the black Versace dress while the men wore more sensible winter clothing.

"This is not only utterly ridiculous, I am extremely offended," she said after critics went wild on social media.

"That Versace dress was fabulous," she continued of the frock she wore while promoting her new film Red Sparrow. "You think I'm going to cover that gorgeous dress up with a coat and scarf?"
