Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston are not engaged, despite a ridiculous report. Gossip Cop can correct this bogus claim, which falsely alleges the former couple is “ready to head back down the aisle together.” We’re told it’s “false.”

According to Yahoo, Pitt has “popped the question to his ex-wife” and is “hoping to give things a go second time around.” A so-called “source” is quoted as telling the online publication, “He didn’t make any big, romantic gestures or anything, he just laid his heart out for Jen and told her that she’s still the one for him.” And in an effort to lend credence to its article, another supposed “insider,” Pitt’s “former body guard” Kris Herzog, is further quoted as saying, “Brad and Jen are in love and always have been.”

The Australian outlet goes on to bizarrely allege, “There’s just one snag to this alleged ‘engagement’: both parties are still married,” before obviously adding that while Pitt is “in the midst of divorce proceedings from Angelina Jolie, Jen is still very much married to current husband Justin Theroux.” Of course, other than the story being entirely nonsensical, it’s all lies. And as Gossip Cop has previously noted, Aniston is happily married to Theroux, so this newest report about Pitt and Aniston rekindling their romance is completely made-up.

Regardless, Gossip Cop still fact-checked the article, and sources close to both Pitt and Aniston laughed off the tall tale and assured us the story is 100 percent “false.” Even though Pitt and Aniston texted each other over a year ago, they have not met up publicly or privately since then.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time Gossip Cop has corrected a manufactured report about the former couple. Most recently, we busted The Inquistr, an equally as unreliable outlet, when it untruthfully alleged Pitt and Aniston were “caught kissing” and are “in love.” In that wholly fabricated narrative, the website wrongly claimed the actress couldn’t let go of Pitt, and even quoted another publication as saying that the actor kissed Aniston’s neck and “whispered something in her ear” inside an L.A. restaurant.

Not surprisingly, the alleged encounter was made-up, with sources close to the stars telling Gossip Cop the report was not true. Much like that inaccurate story, this latest one about the actor and actress getting engaged is similarly phony.
