Something Weird Happened to Pregnant Jordin Sparks in Her Second Trimester
February 8, 2018Jordan Sparks craved pickles and blood oranges early in her pregnancy. Then the 28-year-old American Idol alum entered her second trimester and something weird happened.
“My appetite went away!” Sparks told Us Weekly at the Lay’s Smiles Experience in New York City on Wednesday, February 7. It’s gotten to the point that the singer’s husband, Dana Isaiah, regularly reminds her to eat.
“I just don’t think about it, which has never been me. I’ve thought about food my entire life. I love food,” she told Us. “So that’s been one surprising thing.”
Sparks, who won season 6 of the Fox singing competition, will welcome her first child, a baby boy, this spring. “Late April or early May,” she said. “I haven’t been telling people dates because he’s going to show up when he wants!”
Though the mom-to-be admitted she’s been feeling “really good,” 25-year-old Isaiah has been extra nurturing. (He even accompanied her to the event!) “If my back hurts, he says, ‘Can I rub it for you?’” she gushed. “He surprises me a lot with things like flowers. He got me this pregnancy tea that I drink all the time now.”
She also praised the model’s amazing sense of humor. “If I’m overwhelmed, he just breaks through with something funny,” she gushed. “I’m like, ‘This is why I love you!’”
Sparks shocked her fans when she revealed in November that she secretly wed Isaiah in mid-July, and that they are also growing their little family.
Prior to marrying Isaiah, Sparks dated Sage the Gemini and Jason Derulo.
