Nicole Kidman “$8 Million Tell All” Still NOT True, One Year After False Report

Nicole Kidman never wrote a tell-all book, despite a 2017 report that wrongly claimed the actress was going to release an “$8 million” memoir. Gossip Cop is looking back at this debunking from February 1, 2017.
This time last year, Star ridiculously announced on its cover, “Nicole’s $8 Million Tell All!” In the accompanying piece, which was a complete bait-and-switch, the gossip magazine teased, “Her shocking split from Tom Cruise, her rough patch with Keith and everything in between — that would be one heck of a read.” A so-called “source” was then quoted as saying, “There’s never been a better time for the superstar to finally consider coming clean.”
Without any proof, the outlet’s questionable “insider” went on to assert, “Nicole is famous for fiercely guarding her privacy. But I can guarantee you that if she was willing to write a real ‘tell-all’ biography — that includes opening up about her divorce from Tom Cruise — she’d be able to get $8 million from a publisher.” Amusingly, the tabloid then resorted to thinking of possible topics that could be inside Kidman’s tell-all book, which included the likes of “The Real Reason Tom Divorce Nicole,” “Nicole’s Many Lovers — And Secret Fiancé,” “Why She Almost Left Keith At The Altar,” “Her Life As A Mom,” and “Those Plastic Surgery Rumors.”
Of course, time has proven that the report was entirely fabricated, which wasn’t surprising considering we’ve repeatedly busted Star for spreading fake news about Kidman. When we first looked into the claim, Gossip Cop was exclusively told that the story was “untrue.” Contrary to the magazine’s baseless and manufactured tale, Kidman was never planning to release a tell-all book, and as we noted above, the article was simply a bait-and-switch, luring readers in with its intriguing headline even though it knew that no such project was ever in the works. The story was just more nonsense from the publication.
And while Star splashed the claim on its cover, it never issued a correction in the past 12 months about how it was mistaken or its source(s) were wrong. Instead, the tabloid tried to trick consumers into spending $5.99 on a magazine that doesn’t even deliver the scoops it promises. Gossip Cop can only hope the outlet is more truthful this year, but we have a feeling that there will be many more false rumors about the actress in 2018. As always, though, we’ll separate fact from fiction.
