As you may've seen, the I Bet singer was savagely DRAGGED on Twitter after she shared a video with a controversial message about single women. Specifically, the 32-year-old urged those without a significant other to "#LevelUp" to what men want them to be, especially if they want a spouse.

However, after an immense amount of backlash, the mother of two has since explained why the speech by pastor John Gray resonated with her so deeply.

In a note on Instagram, Ciara admitted:

Nonetheless, we can't blame those who've criticized the industry vet for supporting the pastor's archaic way of thinking. In case you forgot, after they called off their engagement, the songstress and baby daddy Future had a pretty messy custody battle over son Future Zahir.

Not "leveling up," made it so Ciara was free to meet now husband Russell Wilson and get her happily ever after. Hopefully, the chart topper's explanation was enough to appease her haters.
