A post shared by Lauren Paul (@laurenpaul8) on Feb 10, 2018 at 8:47am PST Aaron Paul and his wife, Lauren Parsekian, welcomed their first child, a beautiful baby girl, earlier this month, and now we finally know her name. According to her birth certificate, which was obtained by The Blast, the couple named their daughter Story Annabelle Paul. Aw! Aaron and Lauren are clearly enjoying parenthood. Not only have they been sharing several adorable photos of baby Story on social media, but they also say the sweetest things about her. Shortly after she was born, Lauren posted a snap of her daughter in the hospital, writing, "There are no words that will ever be able to explain what just happened to my heart." Yuzuru Hanyu Combines His Love of Figure Skating and Disney in the MOST Adorable Way

Yuzuru Hanyu makes it rain...Winnie the Pooh dolls. A post shared by NBC Olympics (@nbcolympics) on Feb 15, 2018 at 9:07pm PST Olympic figure skater Yuzuru Hanyu is so talented that he flawlessly earned first place on Thursday night, but his skill level isn't the only thing that sets him apart. The 23-year-old Team Japan Olympian has a serious affinity for Winnie the Pooh, and we mean serious — it's kind of his thing, and it's amazing. Winnie the Pooh sits by the rink as Hanyu's good-luck charm, and he's been known to pat the bear before hitting the ice. His fans have taken note of his love for the Disney icon over the years, and they love supporting his obsession. After Hanyu finished his routine to "Ballade No. 1" by Frederic Chopin on Feb. 15 and received a jaw-dropping score of 111.68, fans in the stands threw hundreds of Pooh dolls down on the rink (which has happened several times before!). While it literally rained Winnie the Poohs, people watching e..

Javier Fernández and His Sexy Figure Skating Routine Will Make Your Body Feel Things

8 years ago Lily Garner
Two-time world champion figure skater, undefeated European champion (gold every year since 2013!), and three-time Olympian Javier Fernández has (shockingly) never actually stood on the Olympic podium. But after his incredible performance in the men's short program, we're pretty sure that's about to change in the most triumphant of ways. With a stunning short program show in Pyeongchang, South Korea, Javier combined power and strength with grace and beautiful precision — and he heads into the short program finals in second place, with an astounding 107.58 points. His biggest obstacle will be his friend and training mate: Japan's 23-year-old Yuzuru Hanyu, who was just slightly ahead of Javier with his flawless 111.62-point performance. Here's a look at Javier performing the same routine at 2018 European Championships. 44590842 And naturally, the internet as a whole (we include ourselves in this) has fallen in love with Javi, for a number of reasons (booty inc..

Sudan Archives Wants Her Music to Empower You — and Make You a Little Uncomfortable

8 years ago Lily Garner
To call Sudan Archives "impressive" is accurate, but also a massive understatement. Born Brittney Parks, the self-taught violinist and vocalist controls nearly every facet of her burgeoning career: she writes, plays, and produces her own music, which draws inspiration from the rich sounds of African fiddles and is steeped in R&B-tinged electronic beats. Sudan Archives's debut self-titled EP, released in July 2017, boasts six tracks that I have found myself describing to others as "highly swayable." Her vocals are airy yet powerful — especially in the fierce "Wake Up" and the sultry and uplifting "Come Meh Way." Lyrics like "I just can't escape, I get blown away / When you come meh way, when you come meh way" border on ecclesiastical. Perhaps the best part is that at just 24 years old, she is only getting started. Sudan Archives answers the phone the same way your childhood best friend did: giggly and excited and happy to hear from you, even though it's been 10 minutes..

Hold on to Your Seats — The Full Incredibles 2 Trailer Is Finally Here!

8 years ago Lily Garner
After Disney released a teaser trailer for The Incredibles 2 last year, the studio has finally blessed us with the real deal. The new footage aired during the Winter Olympics on Wednesday night, and it's already flooding us with nostalgia for the 2004 original (yes, it's been 14 years). The newest installment sees the return of Craig T. Nelson as Mr. "Bob" Incredible, who will be putting his superhero alter ego aside so that his wife, Elastigirl (Holly Hunter), can go on her own exciting exploits. That means we get to see some heroic actions from our favorite supermom, as well as new stay-at-home-dad Bob's roller coaster of an adventure with the kids (especially baby Jack-Jack) — what more could we want? Watch the epic trailer above, then check out everything we know about the movie so far before it hits theaters on June 15.

Why We All Need to Watch the School Shooting Video That Newscasters Warn Is “Disturbing” and “Upsetting”

8 years ago Lily Garner
In the hours following the devastating shooting at a Florida high school — which took the lives of at least 17 people and marks the 18th school shooting in 2018, for which we've only had 45 days so far (that's a shooting every two and a half days, or one every 60 hours) — I watched dozens of news clips to try to piece together what happened. Nearly every video I clicked on was generally the same. A stoic, resigned newscaster explained what happened while footage played of students fleeing the campus. Arial shots of SWAT team members circling the building and officers putting the alleged shooter into the back of a police car. Then, nearly every reporter announced that there was a video filmed from inside a classroom during the active shooting. A video taken by a student who posted it to Snapchat. A rare glimpse at what it was really like inside. Before playing this video, they all — every single one of those reporters, anchors, and newscasters — warned viewers of the graphi..

Yrsa Daley-Ward Is Laying Her Pain Bare and Turning It Into Uplifting, Unconventional Poetry

8 years ago Lily Garner
From the outside looking in, the path to success in the literary world often seems to be signposted with educational milestones and well-placed contacts. Yrsa Daley-Ward's story is different, and that's just one reason it's so inspiring. The 20-something author of the acclaimed poetry collection Bone hasn't had the most conventional journey to becoming a literary darling. Daley-Ward was born in London to a Jamaican mother and Nigerian father, and she didn't have the easiest childhood; she was raised by her grandparents in a small town in the north of England. And she made a conscious decision not to go to college. Her mother's response: "You're wasting your brain." But Daley-Ward knew her path was heading in a creative direction, even if she didn't know exactly what that meant. "I did well at school, but that's not how I relate," she says. Although she had been writing from an early age and even wrote a novel at age 18, she wasn't sur..

The State of New York Is Suing Harvey Weinstein

8 years ago Lily Garner
With conversations about sexual harassment and women's rights continuing to dominate the public discourse, time may officially be up for Harvey Weinstein: New York state is suing him for sexual harassment and misconduct. As Reuters reports, the state has sued Weinstein and his company in advance of a potential sale of the business. New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman noted the legal actions because Weinstein and company "failed to protect employees" and because a sale of the company must "ensure that victims will be compensated, employees will be protected going forward, and that neither perpetrators nor enablers will be unjustly enriched." The lawsuit is, effectively, a giant nail in the Weinstein coffin — one which has been hammered in for months by actresses like Kate Beckinsale and Asia Argento and Uma Thurman. The suit will not only place a large general fine on Weinstein, but also require the payment of "restitution and damages to the victims." The Weinstein Co.&#..
