Melissa Schuman, the former Dream singer who accused Nick Carter of rape, has filed a police report against the 38-year-old performer.
She submitted the report this Wednesday, February 7, according to PEOPLE. Later that day, she took to Twitter to share the exciting news.
“I’m finally doing what I thought I could no longer do. I’m filing a police report #timesup #bebrave #bethechange #metoo thank you @RAINN [the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network] for empowering me to take this step,” she wrote.
As RadarOnline.com exclusively reported, sexual assault accusations against Carter first resurfaced lat last year, which Schuman being named as a 20-year-old fan.

Schuman, 33, then spoke out about the alleged rape on her personal blog. In her recount, she claimed she was at a house party in 2006 when the male singer forced his penis into her mouth. While she came forward with the claims, the case was dismissed that same year after investigators did not find sufficient evidence.
When the #MeToo movement began, Schuman decided to speak of the alleged rape once more.
Nick Carter has denied the accusation and – through his lawyer – claimed that the woman was simply trying to extort him.
