Michael Avenatti and Anthony Scaramucci: Cable News Odd Couple?

In the latest episode of Our Reality TV Presidency, the pugnacious lawyer representing the porn star who has sued Donald Trump, and the shortest tenured White House communications director in U.S. history are being pitched to cable news networks to star in a program in which the two men would exchange their political views.

UTA’s Jay Sures is the one having conversations about pugnacious lawyer Michael Avenatti and hot-headed Anthony Scaramucci, with CNN and MSNBC, New York Times reported first.

Natti & The Mooch were a star attraction at Sures’s White House Correspondents Dinner party last month in Washington D.C. and, more recently, his Upfront Week party last Sunday at NYC’s Cadillac House.

These days, you can’t throw a dead cat without hitting one of these guys in the TV landscape.

Avenatti is the attorney suing President Trump on behalf of porn star Stormy Daniels, who, in the walk-up to the election signed an NDA to not talk about her alleged affair with Trump more than a decade ago. She says it’s not valid because Trump did not sign it. Avenatti’s a whiz at publicity, sending Stormy into the courtroom where Trump’s personal lawyer Michael Cohen was appearing to fight the FBI’s document raid on his home and office. Avenatti also famously leaked financial records showing Cohen received cash from a firm tied to a Russian oligarch.

Scaramucci, meanwhile, was Trump’s Communications Director for 10 days at which time he got the hook after graphically describing to then-New Yorker writer Ryan Lizza how very limber Steve Bannon is, and observations about other Team Trump members, while forgetting to start the conversation with “Off the record.”

Avenatti has responded to the reports with “lol,” adding he has no interest in television “right now,” and will “leave that to the experts, while focusing on prevailing for Stormy”:

Lol. I have no interest in television right now. I’ll leave that to the experts. I enjoy practicing law and look forward to prevailing on behalf of my client Stormy Daniels. That’s where my focus is. #focused #basta
