Donald Glover Tweets 15-Page ‘Deadpool’ Script, Says Was Not “Too Busy” For FX Series

No, Donald Glover says, he was not “too busy to work on Deadpool,” despite FX’s still-fresh announcement that Glover and his brother Stephen Glover are off the animated Deadpool series.

Glover even posts a 15-page manuscript – page by page – on Twitter of what he says is a Deadpool script that seems to chronicle the series’ cancellation.

The Glover brothers were initially intended to write the series and serve as its showrunners and exec producers.

In today’s tweet, Glover writes, “For the record: I wasn’t too busy to work on Deadpool.” The script includes what could be an in-joke reference: “Do you think they canceled the show because of racism?!”

FX has no comment.

On Saturday, FX made a surprising announcement that it is not going forward with its Marvel’s Deadpool animated adult action-comedy series, from Atlanta creator/executive producer/star Donald Glover and writer Stephen Glover. “Due to creative differences, FX, Donald Glover, Stephen Glover and Marvel Television have agreed to part ways on Marvel’s Deadpool animated series. FX will no longer be involved with the project,” the network said in a statement then.

The project, an adaptation of the hit Marvel character, received a 10-episode straight-to-series order last May to premiere in 2018 on FX Networks’ comedy-focused FXX. According to sources, Marvel did not agree with the Glovers’ vision for the show based on scripts written by Stephen Glover. FX supported the brothers, who have a deal at FX Prods., so FX, with Donald and Stephen Glover, pulled out from the project.
